Great Fabric. French seams
"Wish these shorts were cut on the bias. However great fabric and french seams like Mom made them. High quality. A little snug in the leg and a little high in the waist in my opinion"
The Cabana Shorts are made for slowing down and enjoying the moment—easy, effortless, and endlessly cool. Pair them with a strong coffee and a grapefruit sunrise. Made from a breezy, lightweight Portuguese hemp-cotton blend that feels like vacation, anytime.
Men should typically size up, but fit is best determined by referencing the size chart. 'Women's Sizing' indicates sizing based on standard garment manufacturing terms, and is not meant to suggest gender identity.
Yarn is dyed first and then woven into the fabric, resulting in patterns that are longer-lasting and more color-fast than stripes created by screen-printing or other generic processes.

Hemp is a naturally strong, durable fiber, which is why we use it to make clothing you'll wear for years. It's also a remarkable crop: in the right conditions, it grows with relatively little irrigation and fewer chemical inputs than cotton.
The facts:
Stronger fiber than cotton. In a peer-reviewed comparison, hemp fibers measured 310–850 MPa in tensile strength, compared with 287–597 MPa for cotton. [BioResources, NC State University]
Resists pilling and wear. In 2025 lab testing of woven bast-fiber fabrics, hemp earned the highest pilling-resistance rating of the fabrics tested, holding up across repeated wear cycles. [Fibres & Textiles in Eastern Europe, 2025]
Uses less water. Hemp uses about 38% less water than cotton over a growing season, and its water footprint is roughly 60% lower. [Journal of Agrometeorology, 2023; Journal of Cannabis Research, 2025]
Needs fewer pesticides than cotton. Cotton is one of the most pesticide-intensive US field crops, with 42 million pounds applied across 10.3 million acres in 2021. Hemp is typically grown with substantially less pesticide input. [USDA data via Organic Trade Association]
Captures carbon as it grows. Published estimates put hemp's CO₂ uptake at roughly 3–15 tonnes per hectare during cultivation. At the higher end, that outpaces the 2–6 tonnes per hectare per year typical of forests. [Portland State University review; University of Cambridge research]
Can help clean soil. Hemp roots can absorb low levels of heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, and zinc from soil. This process is called phytoremediation. [Portland State University review]
Facts refer to hemp fiber and cultivation. Many of our garments are hemp–organic cotton blends.

"New favorite shorts. The yellow banana color is classic, cool, cute and sophisticated all in one. The fabric is truly special, I thought I would not like anything with hemp because it was coarse, but everything I’ve ordered from Jungmaven is the most luxurious with worn-in cool feel - obsessed."
"Great short for lounging; unlike typical soft floppy lounge shorts. Fabric is surprisingly stiff and paper-like but I can get used to it. Fit is not as oversized as other Jungmaven pieces; I had to size up."
"145 lbs 5’9” The small will take some breaking in but I LOVE how it fits and is already breaking in/softening nicely. Very flattering cut, comes up to just below belly button. 10/10"
"These shorts are super cute, comfy, and easy to pair with almost anything! This is my time ordering from Jungmaven and I was very impressed with the quality of the clothes I bought!! That being said, I did have to exchange a L to XL. The L fit just right, but I was looking for a little looser fit and got just that with the XL (:"
"Love these shorts! Like the body of the material as have a nice weight and offer upgrade to an otherwise very basic garment. Great color, too."
"Love these shorts - light and easy. Would definitely buy again in a different color."
"I really liked these shorts they were just a bit slim in the leg for what I was going for. May try to size up the next round."
"Great casual shorts!!"
"Love these along with the seaside pants i recently ordered! Size small was perfect - im usually a 26 in denim 5'6 130. These soften with washing and wearing. I couldve gone with an xs to look more fitted like the model but wanted comfy so small is great!"
