Built to last
"Just feels like a substantial shirt that will last forever as soon as you put it on. Love it!"
100% hemp tank with a tried and true classic cut. With a texture similar to raw silk that creates the perfect drape.
Women should typically size down, but fit is best determined by referencing the size chart. 'Men's Sizing' indicates sizing based on standard garment manufacturing terms, and is not meant to suggest gender identity.
The finished garment is washed in color, rather than dying the fabric prior to cutting and sewing. This results in subtle variations of color and a softer texture. Washed White is not garment-dyed.

Hemp is a naturally strong, durable fiber, which is why we use it to make clothing you'll wear for years. It's also a remarkable crop: in the right conditions, it grows with relatively little irrigation and fewer chemical inputs than cotton.
The facts:
Stronger fiber than cotton. In a peer-reviewed comparison, hemp fibers measured 310–850 MPa in tensile strength, compared with 287–597 MPa for cotton. [BioResources, NC State University]
Resists pilling and wear. In 2025 lab testing of woven bast-fiber fabrics, hemp earned the highest pilling-resistance rating of the fabrics tested, holding up across repeated wear cycles. [Fibres & Textiles in Eastern Europe, 2025]
Uses less water. Hemp uses about 38% less water than cotton over a growing season, and its water footprint is roughly 60% lower. [Journal of Agrometeorology, 2023; Journal of Cannabis Research, 2025]
Needs fewer pesticides than cotton. Cotton is one of the most pesticide-intensive US field crops, with 42 million pounds applied across 10.3 million acres in 2021. Hemp is typically grown with substantially less pesticide input. [USDA data via Organic Trade Association]
Captures carbon as it grows. Published estimates put hemp's CO₂ uptake at roughly 3–15 tonnes per hectare during cultivation. At the higher end, that outpaces the 2–6 tonnes per hectare per year typical of forests. [Portland State University review; University of Cambridge research]
Can help clean soil. Hemp roots can absorb low levels of heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, and zinc from soil. This process is called phytoremediation. [Portland State University review]
Facts refer to hemp fiber and cultivation. Many of our garments are hemp–organic cotton blends.

"Good Quality, Heavy Weight Fabric. Fits to Size."
"Fabulous fit and feeel - can’t beat the 100% hemp!"
"Love this tank! The 100% hemp fabric feels incredible - light, breathable, and perfectly flowy. It drapes beautifully and has that easy, laid-back vibe that Jungmaven always nails. The texture and weight make it feel both durable and soft at the same time. It’s a little on the long side, but I actually don’t mind. It gives it a relaxed look that works great tucked or untucked. Definitely my new go-to for warm days."
"The Playa Tank Top feels amazing — soft, breathable, and made from pure hemp that just gets better with wear. It’s an easy, natural piece that works anywhere from the beach to the city."
"These tanks fit comfortably and are a heavier material, though they're exceptionally breathable. The cut is just right in terms of length and width. Help feels great in the summer."
"I have purchased this tank top twice now because I love the material. I noticed the first Playa tank top I purchased has a feel similar to the Mana 7 hemp shirt (thinner, lighter, airier material) while the most recent one I purchased has a feel more similar to the Mana 10 (thicker, weightier) or the regular Jungmaven tank top. Personally, I like both versions for different reasons."
"Likely the best tank top I’ve ever purchased before. Time will tell if it holds up to repeated washes. Only complaint is the pricing is exorbitant for one tank top."
"Weird material for a tank. Material writing is for a winter garment, however it is a summer cut. Will droop down and is quite long."
"I have been buying the different iterations of Jungmaven's 100% hemp shirts for the last seven or eight years and have had varying degrees of success with fit and with how much some of the older shirts would stretch. The cotton/hemp blends always fit perfect. It seemed to be more an issue with the 100% hemp products. One time I showed up to the gym after biking during a Key West summer, where the shirt had stretched so much due to sweat and heat that it was almost a like wearing a tunic from Zelda. I tucked it in as I in no way look like Link and not trendy enough to pull off the dress look. The Playa shirt is so much better. It holds its shape much better in the heat and I regularly wear it to the gym or playing around in the yard with my newfies. It never gets too saggy, if anything it starts to drape better as the day goes on. It is also very comfortable and airy. I really liked the Playa shirt I got, so I bought all the other colors. Fabrics made of natural materials seem easiest to sew up, so these things should hopefully last me for quite some time. I like the shirt."
